In the follow interview, Professor Chen Qinjian of East China Normal University in Shanghai states, “I have two main contributions to help understand and appreciate China’s cultural heritage. First is the exploration and research on the origin of Chinese culture. … Another contribution of mine is the focus on Chinese intangible cultural heritages after the entry into 21st century. I have put forward some constructive suggestions. I think that the intangible cultural heritage is the life code of our whole nation. And the protection of the intangible cultural heritages should go back to the folk life. In addition, I raise the concepts of life field, life style, and life stream to help the further protection of the cultural heritages.” Watch the interview in the video gallery below to learn more about Professor Chen and his academic research regarding Chinese culture.
