An Interview with Surna 苏日娜
Surna is a Ph.D advisor in the Folklore Program at Minzu University of China. Her research focuses on folklore studies of Chinese minority groups, and she has done work in this area for many years. Key points in her talk include discussing the preservation of Chinese and Mongolian cultural heritage in three parts. The first is in regards to traditional Mongolian dress; specifically traditional dress in the Mongolian Empire and Yuan Dynasty. Surna currently cares most about changes in traditional Mongolian dress in China’s social change, and how to pass down that information in order to protect and preserve the culture.
